So one thing I learned today...I either don't like my flash or I don't like my lens, not sure which, or maybe it was my filter...argI also learned I do not like Photovad.com that is who my dad bought my flash through...the pretty much robbed him--I'll save that story for another day
Here's two shots from tonight
The top one was f/2.8 1/40sec ISO 400 with a 50mm lens no flash, I would like to say natural light however I think by the time little Silver fell asleep it was dark out...edited in photoshop with the "Lovely & Etheral" photoshop action from Pioneer Woman.
The second one f/2.8 1/30sec ISO 400 with 50mm lens and no flash again lighting is pretty much what was in there house. Edited by performing the "Lovely & Etheral" action then the "PW B&W Beauty" action followed by the "PW Warmer" action...all from Pioneer Woman.

I love that 2nd picture with the fingers. Is this the new lens you got recently? What mode is your camera in when you shoot portraits like this? A? That's a really low f/stop.
It was my new lens. I always shoot in full manual mode except with auto focus. The lighting was really bad in the house and by the time the baby fell asleep it was dark out so alot of the pics seem to have that orange/redness from the house lights even if I set my white balance on that. Ohwell that's what Photoshop and black and white is for right :)
I know who to call when I need some pictures taken! Both shots are great! You should be proud, and I am sure that you have a very happy client
Photoshop's Actions rock. I've been using those more in the last month than ever before. I didn't know the Pioneer Woman had any downloadable ones until you posted that. Got 'em now! Bonus. :) One more good reason to have this blog!
